52100, also known as 100cr6, is a solid chromium alloy steel widely used in ball bearings. The steel forms fine carbides that contribute to high egg stability, resistance to chipping and rolling of the egg. 52100 is perfect for kitchen knives and hunting knives, but can also be used as an egg steel in laminated blades.
