The Good Old Classic
With 1075, it is hard to go wrong. It hardens easily, is inexpensive, is tough, and is often used in damascus and laminated blades. With its relatively simple composition, 1075 also has the advantage of easy edge maintenance. 1075 does the job without hesitation and is a good working steel that is also well-suited for beginners in the knifemaking trade.
Note: Some of the variants have a note stating that they are slightly bowed, meaning they have acquired a slight curve after being cut from a larger sheet. This is completely normal, but we try to deliver as flat blanks as possible, which is why we mark those variants that have a curve. For example, there may be a 3mm curve over a length of half a meter.
