Description:
This knife blade from Swedish company Casström is developed as a compact hunting model, designed by knifemaker Alan Wood. The blade is small and lightweight, yet robust and functional – perfect for precision work in the field.
With a blade length of around 60 mm, you get a highly controlled tool, ideal for tasks such as field dressing, fine detail work, and general outdoor use. Its compact size also makes it easy to always carry the knife with you.
The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, known for its excellent sharpness, high wear resistance, and very good rust resistance. The steel is also cryogenically treated, which provides better edge retention and increased resistance to wear.
The construction is full-tang, providing high strength and stability in the finished product. Combined with a flat grind, this offers excellent cutting properties and makes the blade effective for both precise cuts and lighter tasks.
The design is well-considered and balanced, with a focus on ergonomics and control. This makes the blade a very good choice for those who want to create a small, yet capable knife.

All Casström knives are cryogenically treated. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen. This improves the steel's performance at a molecular level and, in practice, gives the blade greater resistance to wear and makes it less prone to chipping compared to a blade with the same hardness that has not been cryogenically hardened.
