All Casström knives are cryogenically treated. Cryogenic hardening is a process where the steel is cooled to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen. This improves the steel's performance at a molecular level, in practice giving the blade greater wear resistance and making it less prone to chipping compared to a blade of the same hardness that has not been cryogenically hardened.
