Description:

This knife blade from Casström is part of the Woodsman series, developed for bushcraft and demanding use in the outdoors. The design is thorough and functional, with a focus on strength, control, and reliable performance.

The blade features a robust full-tang construction and a thickness that provides high stability during use. This makes it well-suited for tasks such as whittling, wood splitting, and general use in the woods and fields.

The Scandinavian grind provides excellent cutting properties and makes the blade easy to maintain in the field. Combined with the blade's shape, this offers great control for both precision work and more demanding tasks.

The steel is Uddeholm Sleipner, a tool steel known for high wear resistance, good edge retention, and toughness. The blade is also cryogenically treated, which improves the steel's structure and provides increased resistance to wear and damage.

The design was developed by knifemaker Roger Harrington and is based on extensive experience with bushcraft and outdoor life. The result is a blade made for practical use – not just looks.

This is a blade blank without a handle, giving you the opportunity to build your own knife. You can shape and customize the handle to your preferred style and material choice, and create a personal final result.

The result will be a powerful, precise, and durable knife – made in your own style, based on one of the most recognized bushcraft designs.

Design by knifemaker Roger Harrington, UK.

Rivet holes: 5 mm (x2),
Lanyard hole: 7 mm (x1)
Suitable Corby rivets: with 4.6 mm waist.

All Casström knives are cryogenically treated. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen. This improves the steel's performance at a molecular level and, in practice, gives the blade greater resistance to wear and makes it less prone to chipping compared to a blade of the same hardness that has not been cryogenically hardened.

See photos of Casström's own versions with curly birch and bog oak, respectively.
