Curly poplar is a distinctive and visually exciting wood species, known for its undulating pattern and vivid grain. In many cases, the wood exhibits a so-called chatoyance – a cat's eye effect – where light plays within the fibers, giving the surface an almost three-dimensional depth.
This handle blank is stabilized with resin, where the wood is vacuum-impregnated and hardened to achieve maximum strength and stability. The result is a material that is waterproof, dimensionally stable, and highly durable, while also requiring no oil or other maintenance.
