Kydex Suede Desert Tan is developed for knifemakers and craftsmen who want an exclusive finish without compromising on functionality. The material combines the well-known strength and formability of Kydex with a bonded suede surface that provides both a premium look and extra protection for the knife.
The suede side can be used as the exterior for an elegant and exclusive look, or as the interior to reduce the risk of scratches on the knife blade. This makes the material particularly popular for handmade bushcraft knives, hunting knives, and exclusive EDC knives.
Desert Tan (Beige) is a light sand color that fits perfectly with bushcraft, hunting, and tactical equipment. The natural hue gives the sheath a clean and professional look, while also harmonizing well with leather, wood, and other natural materials.
The material can be heated to approx. 150–200 °C, formed around the knife, and reheated if you wish to adjust the fit. It withstands moisture, cold, heat, and hard use, and can be cut, drilled, sanded, polished, glued, sewn, and mounted with eyelets and hardware in the same way as regular Kydex. One sheet is often enough for several knife sheaths, depending on size and design.
