Kydex Suede Red is developed for knifemakers and craftspeople who want an exclusive finish without compromising on functionality. The material combines the well-known strength and formability of Kydex with a bonded suede surface, providing both a premium look and better protection for the knife. The material can be used for everything from bushcraft and hunting knives to EDC knives and special projects.
The suede side can be used as the outside for an elegant and exclusive look, or as the inside to reduce the risk of scratches on the knife blade. This makes the sheet particularly popular for handmade knives where both finish and protection are important.
The red color gives the sheath a distinctive and modern look that stands out from traditional black or brown sheaths. At the same time, you retain all the benefits Kydex is known for – high durability, low weight, and resistance to moisture, temperature changes, and heavy use.
The material can be heated to approx. 150–200 °C, formed around the knife, and reheated if you wish to adjust the fit. It can be cut, drilled, sanded, polished, and fitted with eyelets and hardware in the same way as standard Kydex. One sheet is often enough for several knife sheaths, depending on size and design.
