Poplar burl is one of the most characterful materials in knife making, known for its vivid and unpredictable patterns. The characteristic "eyes" and swirls arise from an abnormal growth in the wood, giving each block a unique look with great depth and movement.
This block is stabilized with resin through a vacuum process, where the wood is fully impregnated and hardened. The result is a material that is waterproof, extremely solid, and dimensionally stable, while requiring no oil or other post-treatment.
