Note: This product is just the D-ring, i.e. the hook or metal clip from Casström's No.3 Dangler. This means you can use this clip to create your own version of a sheath dangler with quick release and attachment to your belt strap.

The Dangler is an accessory that allows your knife to hang lower from your belt and swing freely, allowing you to move easily and flexibly. It is easy to take it on and off your belt. The specially designed D-ring can also be used for other tasks.

Benefits for knife makers

The Belteloopen makes it easy to attach kydex or leather sheaths to your belt. Simply create a loop in the sheath that you can thread the D-ring into, and a loop from the D-ring to the belt, and voila, you have a solid and versatile attachment system for your sheaths.

Technical information

The carabiner is made of aluminum and will be able to accept knife sheaths and other items with a strap that is up to 34mm wide.

Background

The story behind the Casstrom Dangler, told by Casstrom: Many of our customers have requested an extended belt strap, a "dangler", so that the knife can be easily reached even when wearing a jacket or a large backpack with a hip belt. With a Dangler it is also easy to sit down without the knife getting in the way. When the case or sheath is hanging, it can be bent at the height of the hip joint, which allows the knife to smoothly follow the movements of your legs if you anchor it - you can run, climb and bend almost without noticing the knife. We have also designed the D-ring as a carabiner, thus opening up many new functions and applications. You can easily take the knife off without having to open your belt, you can easily move the knife to your backpack for example, or just quickly take it off if you are approaching a populated area. The D-ring is made of solid 8mm thick aluminum and in tests has exceeded a breaking strength of 400kg, which means you can use it for many different purposes, such as hanging equipment, pulling an animal or anchoring a dog leash to your waist. It can also be used to hang a tarp or hammocks. Note that the D-ring should not be used for climbing as a bad fall can create forces exceeding 400kg, even if the person is not heavy.
